Safety during the easing of the COVID lockdown restrictions is a major concern for us. We want to ensure we do all we can to keep our staff and our customers as safe as we can.
We have utilised the expertise of local company Humruddy Services to provide us with a Covid Audit and help with our Covid Secure Risk Assessment to make sure we are following best practice guidelines.
We have placed hand sanitiser stations at the entrance to the cafe and ask that everyone please use this on entry and exit. There is also sanitizer to be used before and after using the toilets and enhanced cleaning procedures in use for the bathroom area.
We have reduced the number of tables inside and out to enable customers to be appropriately distanced from each other. We ask for everyone to remain at their tables as much as possible. We have the benefit of an open plan space where staff can see and hear customers easily so if you need us please just shout up, and we will come to you, do not approach the counter. We know that your little people are used to being free to move around and play when they are with us. This is unfortunately not possible at the moment. We ask for children to be supervised at all times and remain at the table. If they need to use the toilet please accompany them to assist if they are under 10, even if they would usually be able to manage on their own.
We cannot provide our indoor toy area at the moment. We will have craft packs available for purchase to keep little ones busy at the table or please feel free to bring some toys from home. Please only bring small things that can easily be used at the table as children will need to remain seated.
We have invested in some new outdoor building toys which can be easily sanitized. These will be available for guests who have pre booked an outside table. There will be boxes allocated to each of the two outside tables and an area set aside for each group to play. Please ensure to remain in your own 'zone' and do not share your allocated toys with another group. We will sanitize each box before another group is given access to it.
Tables, chairs and touch points will be sanitized regularly. We will remove things from tables and provide cutlery and condiments to you in single use pots. To avoid waste and plastic we will provide portions of sauce in paper cups, please alert us if you need more at any point.
Staff will be temperature checked daily as they arrive for work and we ask for all dine-in customers to consent to a non contact temperature check too. Table bookings will have staggered arrival times to avoid larger numbers arriving at once and alleviate queuing at the door.
We are placing a large focus on our takeaway services for those who feel unable or unwilling to venture out just yet or for those we can't accommodate due to our reduced capacity. New menu items are available for takeaway and delivery via our new sister company The Weekend Factory and we have invested in our new icecream service too to allow for some family treats without dining in with us.
Staff will work in their own 'zones' to allow us to social distance from each other. We have reduced staffing in the kitchen due to its size and layout so please be understanding that our walk in menu has become smaller for the time being and that there may be longer waiting times during busy periods. We have tried to plan for this by introducing a larger pre order menu. We'd really appreciate guests pre ordering where possible. This will give you access to a much wider choice, help us to reduce waste and buy stock efficiently as well as easing the strain on the kitchen.
We will implement a Track and Trace system in line with Government guidelines. If you have booked online your details will have been captured. If you have not booked online we will ask for your details on arrival and will keep these for 21 days.
We are very aware of needing to keep everyone as safe as we can. We are working hard to adapt our business and implement new ways of working. Please chat to us if you have any concerns.
